DISCOVERY MEKONG DELTA & PHU QUOC IN STYLE - 7 DAYS
The relaxing pace of island life and the understated opulence of resorts on Phu Quoc island combine to make a sublime tropical escape on the island. Along with this is a journey through the lush Mekong Delta to visit floating markets and trying local delicacies of Mekong Delta.
DAY 1: WELCOME TO HO CHI MINH CITY
Greeting at your hotel in Saigon, you begin a half day visiting the bustling HCMC (formerly Saigon ), the country's commercial center and home to a growing number of upscale restaurants and shops. Visit Chinatown, the Thien Hau Pagoda, the Reunification Palace , the Opera House and Hotel de Ville. If desired, also visit the moving War Remnants Museum . Explore colorful outdoor markets and Dong Khoi Street , the city's main shopping boulevard with shops. Overnight in HCMC.
DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY - MEKONG DELTA - CAI BE - VINH LONG - SADEC ON SONG XANH SAMPAN
(Overnight on board "Song Xanh" sampan)
Pick up at your hotel in Saigon at 07:30 and drive to Vinh Long. The excursion starts from Cai Be town pier at around 10.30 am. Upon embarkation on your sampan you will be welcomed by your crew.
After your installation the cruise will begin with the visit of Cai Be floating market, cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. We will proceed to Phu An hamlet, an untouched beautiful area reflecting some of the Mekong delta best sights. On the way, stop will be made at some local home factories to observe how rice paste, coconut candies and other regional specialties are made.
A delicious lunch will await you at "Le Longanier" restaurant, a superb Indochinese house located by the river, in a lush tropical garden surrounded by fruit plantations. After lunch, your sampan will proceed to Sa Dec cruising the Tien Giang river, one of the two large arms of the Mekong. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos, and remaining unknown to many people. We will then cruise on a small beautiful canal through water jacinth plantations… You will take a small rowing boat for a cruise along a narrow canal passing by a local tiny village and fruit plantations.
Further on the banks, some dark smokes in the sky will lead us to one of the largest artisanal bricks and tiles factory where you will have an interesting visit.
Sa Dec town will appear like a little "Venice" with numerous narrow canals. You will disembark a the local market place. Before sunset, we will have a very interesting visit at a splendid ancient house or "Nha Co" dating from the early 19th century. After being greeted by the owners, we will cater a candlelight dinner for you, an unforgettable experience in a very unique atmosphere...
First night on the Mekong river...
DAY 3: SADEC - LONG XUYEN - ONG HO ISLAND (B, L, D)
(Overnight on board "Song Xanh" sampan)
The breakfast will be served on board at 07am.
The day will begin with a guided visit of Sa Dec charming and peaceful town, walking along its narrow streets where beautiful French old houses and Chinese temples dating from the last century are numerous...
You will also visit the local market and the Trung Vuong primary school where well known writer Marguerite Duras spent her childhood...(see her famous novel "The Lover").
Back on board your private sampan for your second day cruise in the delta.
While your sampan will proceed upstream on the Mekong river to Long Xuyen, a delicious lunch will be served on board…
Long Xuyen is a peaceful typical provincial town lying on the Mekong's banks, dotted with an attractive floating market... In the afternoon, excursion to “Ong Ho” island to visit the museum of Ton Duc Thang, second president of Vietnam...
At the end of the day, we will organize for you an exciting evening with your dinner arranged at a local ancient house. You will be able to share experiences with family members and learn about traditional southern lifestyle, a highlight of your journey to be kept for long time in your memory...
Back on board your private sampan for the your second night on the river.
The cruise will slowly continue during the night to Rach Gia.
DAY 4: LONG XUYEN - RACH GIA - PHU QUOC ISLAND (B)
Arrival at Rach Gia, a port town located at the southern end of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand. Its main industries are fishing and agriculture.
The breakfast will be served on board at 07am (for those having a connecting flight to Phu Quoc island at 08am, breakfast will be served at 06am).
Pick up and transfer to your resort. Leisure time.
Overnight on Phu Quoc island.
DAY 5: ENJOY PHU QUOC WITH OCEAN SQUID FISHING (B)
Relax and enjoy your Phuquoc sandy beach: swim, sunbathe and take in the delights of this beautiful holiday resort. Optional sightseeing or visit to offshore islands, scuba diving and other water sports. or just relax and enjoy the resort facility.
16:00 Take a pleasure boat or canoe to Cua Lap area; anchor the boat for fishing and squid fishing. 20h00: Enjoy rice soup with squids while the boat returning to the resort.

DAY 6: PHU QUOC BEACH ( B)
Free time at the resort to enjoy the comfort of the resort with breakfast included.
DAY 7: PHU QUOC DEPARTURE ( B)
Free time until transfer to airport for your fligh to Saigon
